How to make a newsletter

  1. Pick a catchy message and tagline

Select the content to highlight in your newsletter template. Text can be moved, resized or adjusted for color and size to add emphasis and interest in any text area.

  2. Choose a theme

In Page, select 'Theme' and make a selection from the style and layout options offered. Your theme appears in the project workspace and you can click on it to start adjusting features such as font size and color.

  3. Showcase your brand with images

Spark themes come with a variety of image and color options, but these can be replaced with images of your choice. Your Spark account includes access to Spark's gallery of free and premium photographs and other images, or you can upload images of your own.

  4. Communicate with engaging text

To add new text to your newsletter template, select 'Text' and type or paste your content into the editable text box. To change the font style, size or color of your text, highlight it and select from the options that appear in your project workspace.

  5. Share your work

When your newsletter is complete, share it online with anyone you'd like. All your finished projects are saved in your account for later access, and Spark generates a unique link for social sharing or embedding on a website.

Make sure that whichever newsletter template you choose, it must include at least 2–4 images or photograph on every page. A newsletter for a school can serve a variety of purposes. Choosing the right newsletter design isn't easy. There's a seemingly infinite number of designs out there, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. (And in many cases, more weaknesses than strengths.) Finding the right colors, shapes, text formats and image placements can take up a huge amount of time.

But with these professionally designed newsletter templates, all you need to worry about is customizing. The designs are already in place, suggested color palettes chosen, and even some images added (though adding your own is recommended).
